Bradford City midfielder Nigel Pepper has completed a £300,000 move to Scottish League Premier Division strugglers Aberdeen.

The 30-year-old was a regular last season, but has been unable to command a place this time following the signings of Stuart McCall and Gareth Whalley.

His move to Scotland means that Aberdeen manager Alex Miller has wasted no time in using the £800,000 raised from the sale of Craig Hignett to Barnsley to strengthen his squad.

Pepper travelled north yesterday, and should go straight into the squad for tomorrow's home game with Dundee United.

Miller said: "Nigel has a lot of attacking qualities and will get goals.

"He made it clear he was delighted to come to Aberdeen, and I am sure the fans will like what they see."

Pepper, who cost City £100,000 when they bought him from York two years ago, said: "I think of myself as a winner and will continue to give my all to Aberdeen."

Pepper is the first of what is expected to be several new faces at Pittodrie as Miller, who is also assistant to Scotland coach Craig Brown, launches his side's battle against relegation.
