Manager Paul Jewell is looking for teenage defender Andrew O'Brien to continue his impressive return to form against QPR at Valley Parade tomorrow.
With John Dreyer and Ashley Westwood still injured, O'Brien will stay alongside Darren Moore at the heart of Bradford City's defence in what is expected to be an unchanged team.
The 19-year-old centre back has not had the best of seasons, spending some of the campaign on the bench.
But Jewell hopes he will draw inspiration from being voted man of the match in the Nationwide League Under-21 side's 1-1 draw with their Serie B counterparts Terni.
Jewell said: "Apparently An-drew was superb in Italy, and I hope he takes that with him into the game tomorrow.
"I thought he did well when he came on as substitute against Swindon and he produced an excellent performance at Huddersfield last week."
Jewell is hoping that City can repeat the kind of performance they showed in the 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield, but this time emerge with a victory to boost their promotion challenge.
He said: "I have had calls and faxes from supporters and people in the game to say that is the best Bradford City have played for a long time. All that was missing were the goals.
"If we repeated that performance in every game for the rest of the season we would go up automatically, but we know we cannot play like that in every game.
"We recovered from league defeats at Ipswich and Grimsby and at Leeds United in the Worthington Cup, so I am hoping we can do that again against QPR.
"But they have picked up a little and have beaten Bolton and Barnsley recently so they are no mugs."
City will be looking for their sixth home win in a row against a side who are third-from-bottom of the table.
"We need to continue our home form, and for the crowd to keep us going," said Jewell. "You need to win your home games, and we have been generally impressive at home."
The Rangers squad will include former City midfield player George Kulcsar and on- loan striker Rob Steiner, who may be in the starting line-up for the first time.
City's Disabled Supporters' Club have arranged for the large print programme for the blind and partially sighted to be available at the ticket office before the match.
