GENEROUS David Seghetti could have really splashed out after saving more than £100 of coppers in a plastic bottle - but he gave it away instead.
The kind 11-year-old decided to give the £126-worth of loose change to last week's BBC appeal Children In Need rather than going on a shopping spree.
And the unselfish act earned David, of Peterhouse Drive, in Otley, a special mention on television when his name featured in credits running along the bottom of the screen.
Mum Susan said the youngster didn't realise just how much money he had collected. "We just decided to count it on Friday night and when we finished, he asked if he could donate it to Children In Need," she said.
"It would normally go into his bank account but he was sure he wanted to give to the appeal. When I rang up for him, they thought it was so good that they said they would give him a mention if they could."
