Burley-in-Wharfedale Cricket Club are to stage a cricket match on Boxing Day to raise funds for the Jamie Hood Appeal.
Jamie was a member of the Yorkshire Cricket Academy from 1994-96 and has played some games for Nottinghamshire seconds.
He went to winter in South Africa where he was involved in a road accident which left him paralysed from the neck downwards.
Due to a lack of insurance for the trip his family is now faced with huge medical bills and the cricket world is rallying to help.
Burley are to stage a Boxing Day match between a Wharfedale X1 and a Yorkshire Academy X1.
Wickets will be pitched at 10.30 am and former Yorkshire players Ashley Metcalfe, Phil Carrick and Peter Hartley are expected to play for the Wharfedale side.
The Burley club are hoping that all their fellow Airedale and Wharfedale League clubs will rally to help them raise funds for Jamie.
The game will be played on the club's new arftificial wicket and there will be refreshments and a bar available as well as some excellent prizes in a raffle including a signed cricket bat.
