Fell queen Jo Prowse was on the receiving end at the FRA's annual presentation -- no fewer than five times.
Chasing up and down the hills of Britain came in as useful practice for the Keighley and Craven ace, now acclaimed as dual English and British vets champ.
The 44 year old, who only took up serious running three years ago, was continually on her feet, picking up the prizes from former national champ Colin Donnelly. Besides the two main prizes - one a huge silver salver - she also collected an English silver and British bronze in the individuals and a silver in the Engli)h teams' event.
Club colleague Karen Slater also took silver in the English teams and the vets individuals.
Among other prizewinners rewarded at the Hanover International hotel at Skipton, was Bingley's Ian Holmes. He too took English and British individual titles.
n It's a busy weekend for Keighley and Craven AC. Tonight sees the senior Christmas 'bash' at the Three Sisters, Haworth, while tomorrow at Greenhead (from 11.30am) the club handicap race is being staged. Both juniors and seniors can compete and the course is based on a cross-country route around Cliffe Castle and Greenhead.
Profits from Sunday's Rivock Edge race at Silsden go entirely - as ever - to charity. Organisers Steve Budimir and Kevin Hopkinson expect to bring the figure raised this past decade to beyond the £2,500 mark. Children's cancer charity Candlelighters benefitted last year and this year's recipients will be local Scouts.
Runners can enter on the day (cost £3) at the pavilion in Silsden playing fields. The 10 mile senior race which follows field, moorland and forestry paths to the Rivock trig, sets off at 11am. A limited junior programme of races begins at 11.05 and entry is free with prizes to all being choc bars.
