Craven Athletic 3
Granby Phoenix 2
The Alliance League's match of the day lived up to expectations with end-to-end soccer.
The home team opened the scoring through J McCormack, however the visitors fought back and were on level terms by the interval. Phoenix took the lead for the first time midway through the second half, but a well taken Athletic penalty once again had the scores level.
James McCormack completed his hat-trick, scoring the winner with 10 minutes left while Paul Jackson scored both Phoenix goals. The game was played in a true sporting manner and well officiated by referee Peter Allen.
Skipton 4
Royal Oak 1
Skipton deserved the victory, but the scoreline does an injustice to the visitors who performed well, but lacked the finishing touch. But the golden touch did not desert Skipton who scored two in two minutes midway through the first half. Five minutes after the break Royal Oak pulled a goal back and were pushing for an equaliser until Skipton again produced a double-strike in the last few minutes.
John Hodson scored the Oaks goal with John Considine scoring a hat-trick and Ian Tyrer adding the other for Skipton.
Bingley White Horse 4
Stanbury Park Rangers 5
The home team were without three of their regular players including leading scorer Andrew Nelson who rattled in four in their last match.
However, they had a worthy replacement in Warick French who scored all the White Horse goals. After an even 20 minutes the home team found the net twice in the space of three minutes, not to be outdone the visitors hit back with a hat-trick of goals to go in at the interval with a one goal lead.
Shortly after the restart Stanbury increased their lead to go 4-2 up, then it was the turn of Bingley to hit back with two goals to level the scores and set the stage for an exciting finish with the visitors getting the winning goal with five minutes left. Scorers for Stanbury were Simon Waddington (2), Ben Furness, Michael Thompson and C Smith.
Division One
Brown Cow 2
New Inn 6
Both teams scored in a hectic opening 10 minutes, but then New Inn started to take control and had added two more goals to their total by half time. Both teams doubled their tally in the second period, giving New Inn a comfortable victory.
Richard Orme and Dave Ellams scored for Brown Cow while Graham Scott rattled in a hat-trick, Richard Blakely scored two and Adrian Dacres blasted a 25-yard shot for New Inn.
Cavendish 1
Old Swan Clarets 2
Cavendish are still without a win this season, and squandered a golden opportunity to break their 'duck' against a nine-man Clarets side.
Keith Spence scored the only goal of the first half for Cavendish, but they could not prevent Old Swan from taking the match with two second half strikes.
