A Silsden student has scooped a top prize for her film about Alzheimer's Disease.
Emma Lazenby, of Westerley Crescent, who graduated with a degree in animation from the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside, won the animation category in the Royal Television Society Student Video Awards.
Although clearly delighted with her win, the 22-year-old former South Craven pupil School never expected to get it. "I wasn't even going to go to the awards ceremony," she says.
Her film - Something Missing - is based on the true story of her grandmother's fight against the disease. It will be shown on Yorkshire Television on Thursday, December 17.
Judges said: "This film contained a very powerful story based on the personal experiences of the film maker. It had a very clear structure and employed a number of clever techniques to get across the impact of Alzheimer's Disease. The judges particularly liked the use of the real soundtrack alongside the animation."
Emma has been working for West Highland Animation in Scotland.
where she has just completed a children's animation serial and an advert for Calor Gas which is soon to be shown on television.
She received her award from BBC North's Clare Frisby at a ceremony which was held at the Hull School of Architecture.
