The Friends of Airedale Hospital have launched an appeal for an unwanted piano.
Chairman Margaret Moorhouse says one of the four in regular use in wards for elderly and psychiatric patients needs more work than it is worth. The Friends would like to replace it but a new instrument would be too expensive.
"Someone may be breaking up a home or have a piano stuck in a corner," she says. "Perhaps they would consider donating it to the hospital." Miss Moorhouse says any necessary work such as tuning will be carried out.
Anyone who thinks they can help is asked to contact the Friends office at the hospital on 01535 652511, extension 4607. People interested in voluntary work can contact Elaine Foster on extension 4316.
