Athletics: Clayton-le-Moors runner Mark Horrocks maintained his rich vein of form by winning the Rivock Edge Hill race from Silsden Park.
Shane Green lead the Pudsey and Bramley charge by holding off team-mate Gary Oldfield for second place, and with ex-Brit-ish fell champion Gary Devine in fourth, it proved a dominant day for the Leeds-based club.
Bingley's first man home was Robin Lawrence in sixth, who covered the ten-mile course in 66min 47sec, a minute-and-a-half behind the winner.
Horwich's Graham Schofield was a clear winner in the over-40 category.
Alan Whalley kept up the Pudsey and Bramley stranglehold, ahead of ninth-placed Jason Helmsley of Ilkley.
The thrill of running over local moorland terrain must have inspired Ilkley members as Nick Pearce took the over-45 prize in 117th place and Bob Hamilton's 20th placing was classed as third over-40, but the pair were eclipsed in the veteran categories by a tremendous run by Rossendale's Pete Lyons, whose time of 72-47 gave him 13th position and first man over-50 out of 153 starters.
The ever-improving Helen Johnson, also of Ilkley, was first woman home in 80 minutes dead, ahead of Vanessa Peacock (Clayton-le-Moors) and Lucy Whitaker (Saddleworth).
There was a major scare though in the women's race when leader Jo-Anne Prowse took a wrong turn and tumbled over the edge of Whingate Quarry around the eight-mile mark.
Some ramblers went to her aid and alerted race marshals, who then carried her to a farm from where an ambulance was summoned.
X-rays at hospital showed no fractures, and Jo is now recovering at home.
She wants to thank the ramblers, who provided her with warm clothing, and everyone involved in her rescue.
The profits from the race go to local children's charities, and over the past seven years the organisers have raised more than £2,000 for good causes.
