RESIDENTS with a bumper crop of Christmas cards to post in the Otley area can now take advantage of the annual scout delivery service.
Organised by the Otley Parish Church Scouts and Guides Parents Association, the service costs just ten pence per card.
Richard Bleasdale, of the association, said members had delivered almost 10,000 cards in 1997.
To use the delivery service, simply take your cards to any of the following shops where the ten pence stamps are on sale, and post them in special boxes - do not use the normal GPO post boxes.
Participating shops are: Mainprize and Wood, Kirkgate; Waye and Sons, Kirkgate; Dawn's Selection, Kirkgate Arcade; K and P Pilkington, Gay Lane; Help the Aged, Boroughgate; D and R Newsagent, Pool Road; Otley Traditional Shoe Repairs, Courthouse Street; A and S News, The Gills.
Pennies, Newall Carr Road; Singh's Off-licence, Weston Lane; Weston General Stores, Weston Drive; Bridge Street Fisheries; The Westbourne, Bradford Road; Wrenbeck Stores, Wrenbeck Drive; Bennett Court, Weston Drive; Gordon Larkin Court, Westbourne Grove; Westgate Infant School; The Spite Pub; Burras Lane Playgroup.
