ROTHERHAM 1
BEN Rhydding played host to Rotherham and despite making heavy weather of the first-half eventually took control to win.
After taking an early lead through David Cutter they sat back and expected the encounter to not pose many problems.
This complacency eventually cost Rhydding and Rotherham levelled after sloppy defence which led to an all too familiar reckless challenge by Maggs.
The resultant penalty flick was despatched with ease and the teams turned round level.
Only in the second-half did Rhydding pull away with goals from Gohil from a short corner and Mazhar after a well worked build up down the right.
Warrington 1
Ben Rhydding 3
Ben Rhydding travelled to Warrington and again won 3-1.
The side showed changes with the return of Fox and Cutter being switched to centre-forward after a run of games at inside-right.
Cussons was back to his cheeky best after an uncharacteristically poor performance against Rotherham.
Both Cutter and Cussons grabbed quality goals but it was Gohil who scored the pick of the crop.
After a defensive mix-up Warrington's 'keeper attempted to clear but only managed to find Gohil who then raced from the 25 into the D and with consumate ease lobbed the advancing 'keeper.
The score might have been more had Adair not had his goal disallowed.
The game was a milestone for manager Warwick Smither returned in goal after a self imposed absence to concentrate on running the side.
Smither played the second-half and was delighted to keep a clean sheet.
Booth's Man-of-the-Match was Craig Smith who worked hard at centre-half.
These two wins have pushed Ben Rhydding up to fourth in the league just six points behind joint leaders Formby and Sheffield Bankers both of whom have yet to travel to fortress Rhydding.
After the match coach Chris Hovington commented:
'We will just keep going until Christmas and then look at the league. The lads need to keep working hard on the basics.'
Ben Rhydding lll's 4
Hull YPI ll's 1
Good second-half forward play brought Bben Rhydding thirds three more points.
They started slowly but still managed to take the lead mid-way through the first-half from a neatly taken goal by Murgatroyd.
However, Hull responded almost immediately and it was all square at half-time.
After the break Ben Rhydding came out firing on all cylinders and it was not long before Baker restored the lead with a fine individual effort from the top of the D.
Hansell then scored two goals in quick succession, the first a rebound from a short corner strike and the second a superb reverse stick effort from the top of the D to take the game out of reach.
Notable performances came from Briggs on his third team debut in goal and the whole of the defence but Booth's Man-of-the-Match David Green in particular.
It was another fine win by Ben Rhydding.
