KEIGHLEY Swimming Club enjoyed their best gala for many years.

The youngest age group, the Under 8s, were well represented with Hailey Jones taking the girls breastroke and freestyle pushed all the way by Eve Hobson who took the backstroke. The boys events were dominated by Oliver Stell with Nicholas Sperduto in the backstroke denying a clean sweep. The Under 9 girls was a more open affair with Sarah Marshall taking the breastroke and backstroke and Jodie Hargreaves the freestyle.

Ben Smith dominated the boys events in this age group taking the back, free, fly, pushed hard by Sam Long and Jeremy Godwin who took the breast.

Emma Jessup with the breast and free and Joanne Myerscough in the backstroke shared the Under 10s girls, whilst John Marshall took the honours in the boys.

Four titles for Rebecca Long in the girls 12s, missing a clean sweep with a close finish in the fly to Lisa Carter. The most exciting races were supplied by the 12s boys, all events causing the judges problems. Scott Feather took the free and breast, Adam Stell the fly and individual medley and Alan Godwin the back.

Michelle Plunkett was denied a clean sweep in the 14s girls by Jennie Murgatroyd in the fly and the boys events were shared with Stephen McAndrew fly, Thomas Marshall breastroke and Joe Marshall the back, free and individual medley.

Nicola Viles had an excellent night in the ladies open taking the breastroke, freestyle and individual medley with Sarah Jessup taking the backstroke.

With the stopwatches safely packed away and the hourglass out the ladies and gents over 30s event closed the evening. Andrea Marshall took the ladies title and Martyn Long the mens.
