Santa Claus will be in historic Main Street tomorrow to give out masks to children, and tickets will be on sale nearby for the evening ball. Santa will be joined tomorrow by a jazz band, choir and sword dancers, and Sunday by a brass band, morris dancers and street organ.
The costumed ball features a harpist, buffet meal and disco as well as live music from the 60s, 70s and 80s performed by Treble Chance.
Tickets for the 7.30pm event cost £8 from Snowden's grocers at the top of Main Street, or by phoning 01535 643214.
The festivities continue on Sunday, December 13, with the village's annual Torchlight Procession leaving the bottom of Main Street at 5.30pm. Shops will open until 7.30pm, and daytime entertainment includes a brass band, Celtic harpist, choir and street organ.
The previous day will see a town crier announcing street entertainment including morris men, Santa, Professor Smartley and folk carol group Sharon and the Singers.
The last weekend before Christmas sees Harmony Barber Shop and Vocal Union (Saturday) and Haworth Brass Band, Professor Smartley and morris men (Sunday).
A Victorian toy theatre will also perform three panto-style double-bills of A Christmas Carol and Sleeping Beauty on December 20. Tickets cost 50p from Tabby's Farmhouse Kitchen Shop, 87 Main Street, or by phoning 01535 644407.
