Brave four-year-old Jordan Anderson proved the shoe must go on when taking part in a charity concert only hours after breaking his foot.

Jordan put his best foot forward for two performances on Sunday even though he had fractured his foot leaping from his sister's cupboard hours earlier pretending to be his favourite cartoon character Buzz Lightyear.

Jordan's mum Karen Anderson said: "He jumped off his sister's cupboard shouting 'To Infinity and Beyond.'

"At first we didn't realise his foot was fractured and he was desperate to perform in the show."

It was only after the first matinee performance when Jordan's mother tried to put his boots on that the seriousness of the injury was realised and the hardy youngster was whisked off to Bradford Royal Infirmary casualty department.

Although his foot had been strapped, Jordan then wanted to return for the evening show to perform his piece, the Mistletoe poem, in front of the Lord Mayor and had to be carried on stage.

The concerts were organised by the Stage 84 drama school where Jordan has been performing for several months in aid of the Lord Mayor's Baby Unit Regional Parents' Society.

Despite the initial setback, the shows were a sell-out success and managed to raise £1,000 for the appeal.

Lord Mayor Coun Tony Miller was so impressed by Jordan's courage that he has invited the youngster and his parents to tea at City Hall.

He said: "I was really impressed when he said he wanted to go on for the Lord Mayor and all the sick babies. It was beautiful. I just felt that for a four-year-old to be thinking of others like that was unbelievable. He had a great 'show must go on' spirit."
