Impotent men are being egged on to try a new sex-drive pill which is claimed to be better than Viagra.

The natural remedy for impotence is produced from chicken eggs and taken in a capsule and also as a rub-on cream containing aphrodisiac herbs.

The pill, Intimate, is being marketed by Paul Bateson, a health care specialist from Sutton near Keighley, who said it was aimed at men suffering erectile dysfunction. The gel contains the aphrodisiacs muira puama and yohimbin. It can also be used by women and partners are encouraged to apply it to each other. He said the product had only been on the market a few weeks and people had shown great interest.

"Already I have had a lot of interest from people suffering diabetes who can have problems of impotence.''

"It also suits people who suffer impotence from a range of other reasons like stress, over-training in the gymn, age and fatigue. Doctors are quite rightly sceptical about most products riding on the back of the Viagra wave, but this to my knowledge is the only natural product clinically trialed.''

A paper had been written in the International Journal of Medical Research last year which described trials of the product in Sweden on 2,000 volunteers, the majority of whom said they had a positive response, he said.

A five to six week course costs £100 and one course should be enough to restore function in most people, said Mr Bateson.
