Bradford City striker Lee Mills faces disciplinary action from the club after being sent off for the first time in his career in the 4-1 win at Swindon on Saturday.
Mills will automatically miss the match at Bolton on Boxing Day as a result of his dismissal for two bookable offences.
Manager Paul Jewell said: "We will sit down and decide what to do, but this is something I want to clamp down on."
Mills who also faces an FA misconduct charge after a verbal confrontation with a linesman at the end of City's 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield Town last month has decided to ask for a personal hearing to put his side of the story.
Jewell said: "Lee will be pleading guilty, but he has asked for a personal hearing so he can put forward a plea in mitigation."
The three substitutes from the Swindon match, Ashley Westwood, Isaiah Rankin and Paul Bolland were being included in today's reserve match against Lincoln City at Farsley Celtic.
