Snooker: Bradford's snooker team were in a hurry in the Yorkshire Inter-District League, defeating Leeds No 1 5-1 in two hours.
Wayne Cooper was the speediest, winning his two frames inside half an hour. He had a break of 49 in taking the first 107-0 off Bob Patterson, and efforts of 32 and 47 gave him the second 83-33.
Kevin Firth defeated ex-pro Alan Trigg 52-35, and looked to be on the way to another victory until he went in off the blue when trailing 47-35. With the five-point penalty, Trigg took the colours to take the frame 79-35.
Leeds No 1 could now draw, but Matthew Holt secured victory by winning his opener 82-9 against Glen Cassidy, having a break of 34. He also took the last 57-20.
The billiards team were even more impressive, winning 7-0, despite Harry Whitby having most of the running against Richard Lodge. Lodge stuck to his task, however, and, aided by a break of 51, won 200-189.
Alan Firth bettered that break by one in having an excellent 200-79 triumph against Stan Brooke, and Paul Devitt completed the whitewash, defeating Ronnie Haigh 200-157, including an effort of 37.
