A property developer has issued its strongest warning yet for gipsies to move away from the former Transperience site.
Odgen Property Ltd spokesman Tim Garnett who has obtained an order to shut off Transperience Way, Low Moor, says he is prepared to close the road - even if the gipsies don't leave.
The company took the measure after consulting the police and Bradford Council - in a bid to prevent travellers from camping on or near their land, last week.
Mr Garnett is becoming increasing frustrated with travellers camping out at the site which the company now owns. "It is now time to take urgent action and there is no way that we will leave the road open over Christmas and the New Year," he said.
The current crop of travellers have been parked on the road since December 4. Mr Garnett said they were still waiting for five caravans to leave.
A police spokesman said they working on a permanent solution to resolve the situation.
Meanwhile householders living in Beech Road, Undercliffe, are still waiting for action by Bradford Council to move gipsies living at the end of the street.
The travellers have been camping out on a concrete piece of land for the past 12 days.
A council spokesman said a gipsy liaison officer had spoken to the travellers yesterday.
