Retired Bradford Bulls captain Graeme Bradley has been severely reprimanded by the Rugby Football League for making derogatory comments about a referee.
The 34-year-old Australian centre, who hung up his boots at the end of last season, was rapped by the league's board of directors after hitting out at Stuart Cummings following his dismissal in the Bulls' play-off defeat at St Helens in October.
Bradley, who was sent off for an alleged foul on St Helens winger Chris Smith but later found not guilty, accused Cummings of lying in his dismissal report.
"The league took a very dim view of Mr Bradley's comments," said spokes-man John Huxley. "It is very sad when players choose to vent their feelings in this way."
Winger Andy Hodgson released by the Bulls last week has joined Wakefield Trinity on a one year deal. The Super League newcomers are also holding talks with ex-Odsal forward Sonny Nickle who is a free agent.
