Chairman Geoffrey Richmond has refuted claims that Bradford City operate a British-only transfer policy.
Since Paul Jewell took charge, the club have bought only British players and a national newspaper today claimed that the Bantams have announced a total ban on foreign stars.
However Richmond said today: "Paul (Jewell) has always maintained that, wherever possible, we will try and buy British.
"He felt that the risk factor was significantly reduced, not only is it easier to track the players but it is also easier to look into their backgrounds.
"There have been some successes with foreign players, but on the whole they have been disappointing.
"However there may well be occasions in the future that we want to sign a particular foreign player.
"There is certainly no embargo on any such players."
