Police who fear an increase in drink driving this Christmas are urging party-goers to shop drunken drivers.
A special phone-line is in operation so members of the public can pass on information about people they suspect of being over the limit.
Keighley police's festive crack-down is only into its first week and already there have been three positive breath tests - but only one call to the hotline.
Keighley road traffic unit Sergeant Richard Czornowol is urging people to use the shop-line in a bid to help stem a possible increase in drink driving.
He said: "We have had three positive tests in the first week of the three-week crack-down. If it goes on like this we could have nine - an increase on last year. That would be bad."
Last Christmas there were 173 people stopped and breathalysed over the same period and seven prosecuted for drink driving.
He said: "Our advice is that if you are intending to drink, don't drive.
"The best thing is to leave the car at home and if you do take the car and drink, hand the keys over to someone else who is not drinking then there is no chance of being drunk in charge."
He said officers would be looking to stop any driver they suspected of being over the limit and they would stop vehicles which were infringing the law from as low an offence as a tail light not working.
There are two numbers which people can ring if they suspect someone of drink driving - they are (01535) 617074 and (0931) 667227. He stressed the numbers were to warn of people suspected of drinking offences and not to report other crimes like burglary.
