NINE year-old Rebecca Pieniazek, a pupil at SS Peter and Paul's RC Primary School, Yeadon, is continuing to make a name for herself in the very competitive world of gymnastics.
At the Darton Van Hire Yorkshire Team Competitions at Dewsbury Sports Centre Rebecca became the 1998 Yorkshire Beam champion winning a troiphy and a gold medal.
Rebecca had been selected to represent the City of Leeds Club on the beam - one of the most difficult pieces.She gave an excellently performed routine which finished with a round-off, back somersault dismount.
She also won a silver team medal with the City of Leeds Club, which trains at Carnegie, coming second to Greenhead Club from Huddersfield by 0.025 of a point.
