RAMPANT Silsden raced through to the fourth round of the County Cup -- with an 8-0 thrashing of Warley Town.
Jimmy Hedges smashed in four goals as the Cobbydale side went into overdrive in the second half.
Silsden started well, and it was Hedges who opened their account after just 10 minutes. He found himself in space to take advantage of Andy Geary's superb free kick.
Warley town came back at Silsden, but could not break down the visitors' defence, with Matthew Bland and Gary Lund putting in superb performances.
Ryan Hook increased the lead with a thundering shot into the roof of the net to put them 2-0 up at the break.
The Silsden side increased the tempo after the break.
Hedges cleverly side-stepped a defender to score his second as the side settled in to their rhythm.
The ever tricky Rob Pearson took on the Warley defence and coolly struck home the fourth goal with Matthew Bland adding No5.
Hedges added two more to take his personal tally to four. A flowing interchange of passes resulted in Rob Pearson volleying home a superb goal.
Silsden even had the luxury of being able to miss a penalty with the last kick of the game, with Ryan Hook taking the spot kick. Ryan Moore made two excellent saves to keep a clean sheet in goal while Jamie Broadhead, Martin Bland and Michael Jarvis had excellent games in midfield.
n Phoenix continued their impressive run of victories with a 3-2 defeat of last year's County Cup winners Storthes Hall in the premier division League Cup.
Both teams played attractive football before Sorthes took the lead when a cross from the right deceived keeper Linyard and ended up in the far corner of the net.
Phoenix didn't let Storthes settle and pulled level when Daley Hoyle's shot from the edge of the box bit the post and rebounded in off the keeper.
The introduction of Danny Spencer after the break gave Phoenix more width on the left, and his persistence gave Phoenix the lead when his shot hit the post and Ben McCormack followed up with an easy tap-in.
The Phoenix back four continued to keep Storthes at bay until a rare mistake from man of the match Linyard allowed the Sorthes centre forward, Tunnicliffe, to head home for the equaliser with minutes to go.
Phoenix again pushed forward and with less then a minute on the clock Graham Bairstow found Spencer who powered his header over the keeper.
Phoenix now play Halifax Irish away in the next round.
n Keighley Shamrocks turned the tables on Dudley Hill Rangers with a 3-0 league cup win.
After losing 2-1 in the league last week they bounced back to produce their best performance of the season.
Steve Pamment put Paul Driver clear for the opening goal and although the Dudley Hill defence hit back Dave Varley and his defence held firm.
Shamrocks increased their lead with Driver finishing off a fine move.
Defender Phil Earle suffered a gashed knee and was replaced by Stuart Wilson who was outstanding and well supported by Stuart Nicholson, Mostyn Hockey and Steve Dovenor in a great team performance.
Pamment completed the scoring with a well taken free kick.
n Phoenix Reserves continued their impressive run with 5-2 victory over Field Reserves.
Phoenix raced into a 5-0 lead in a breathtaking first half to kill off any hopes Fields had of making progress in the League Cup.
Richard Clarkson netted first from close range before Colin Horsfield got into his stride by rattling in a hat-trick. Horsfield's finishing was top notch and his pace constantly worried the Fields defence.
Clarkson was determined not to be outdone and his completed his second on the stroke of half time and should have claimed his ha-trick in the first minute of the second half.
Phoenix took their foot off the gas and Fields pulled two goals back near the end. The win sets up a local derby clash with Keighley Shamrocks.
