LOCAL rivals Ilkley and Burley Trojans shared the spoils in this league encounter which was a curtain-raiser for Saturday's District Cup quarter-final.
There was never much to choose between two sides and the standard of football reflected their positions at the top of the table.
In a game of few chances Trojans just about had the edge with young strikers Stuart Dibb and Pete Sumner both going close to breaking the deadlock in the first-half.
Ilkley, despite net approach play, never seriously threatened the visitor's goal, while Dibb and Chris Lockwood both had efforts cleared off the line.
Trojans had a golden opportunity to claim all three points midway through the second-half when Man-of -the-Match Phil Constantine was fouled in the area.
The normally reliable John Lofthouse saw his spot kick go wide and both sides were forced to settle for a point.

Trojans Reserves picked up three priceless points in this local derby to halt their slide down the table.
Following the previous week's debacle in the Cup the home side showed a lot of character to bounce back with a deserved victory.
Seventeen-year-old striker James Goodison paved the way with a coolly struck penalty following a seemingly harsh handball award.
Skipper Steve Hitchen doubled the advantage before the break with a clinical far post header following an excellent run and cross from the industrious Jez Strong.
Otley came right back into the game in the second-half and eventually reduced the deficit with 15 minutes remaining when a far post cross was converted.
Trojans were forced to defend, at times desperately, as the visitors pushed for an equaliser.
Experienced defenders Steve Nelson and James Huntley helped to steady the ship with Nelson picking up Match Point on his return to the side.
l Trojans travel to Thirsk on Saturday seeking to make amends for their recent Cup exit at the hands of the North Yorkshire side.
