Bront Country Tourism is finishing the year on a high with the release of its latest promotional magazine.
The 1999 edition of the Bront Experience was un-veiled recently at the World Travel Market at Earl's Court in London last month.
The magazine received favourable comments from people in the tourism trade who visited the Bront Country Tourism (BCT) stand.
The magazine is distributed to tour operators and hotels around the world.
Carolyn Spencer, of Bront Country Tourism, says: "People were coming up to us at the World Travel Market and asking us for the updated version of the Bront Experience which shows it has become established. Comments I have had back from people in the travel trade have been very positive."
The brochure has been produced by ADVentura Publish-ing, an arm of the Jackson Partnership based at Many-wells Brow in Cullingworth.
As well as focussing on local attractions like East Riddles-den Hall, the magazine features interviews with 'Antiques Roadshow' expert Eric Knowles and actor Ian Bleasdale, who plays Josh in the popular BBC hospital drama 'Casualty'.
As managing editor, Robin Jackson says the new edition improves on the previous publication which drew criticism from some members of Keighley and Haworth Tourism and Management Group. He says: "The initial response has been very encouraging, and we have had quite a number of enquiries from coach operators and consumers."
Mr Jackson believes the potential to market Bront Country has not yet been fully realised and says more communication between people in the local tourism trade will bring greater rewards. He is now compiling ideas for the millennium edition of the Bront Experience and is currently looking for features to put in the brochure.
The Jackson Partnership is also considering a possible partnership with Skipton Tourist Information Centre to link the promotion of Bront Country and the Skipton area. The company expects to announce a decision on the subject before Christmas.
It has been a good year for BCT which has further established its trademark Bront Country logo around the world. And as well as interest from the United States and China there has been a growing number of enquiries from tour operators in Japan.
Another possible development for next year is the development of the Bront Country bulletin from its current size to an A4 publication.
The organisation is also jointly sponsoring the British Incoming Tour Operators dinner with York Tourism Bureau. The dinner will be held in February at the Queens Hotel in Leeds.
