Police are calling for improved street lighting around a junction after a pedestrian was injured when he was in collision with a van.
The incident happened around 7pm on Friday when a Ford Escort van was turning right into Highfield Road, Keighley, from West Lane. The force of the impact smashed the windscreen.
Alan Green, believed to be in his 50s and who lives in a nearby sheltered housing complex, was attended by paramedics after he was taken to a nearby house. He was removed to Airedale Hospital where he was treated for a compound fracture to his left index finger and cuts and bruises to his head. He was kept in overnight for observation.
The driver of the van - a Bradford man - was breathalysed at the scene. The test proved negative.
A spokesman for Keighley Police says the junction is poorly lit, which contributed to the accident. "We will be recommending to Bradford council that street lighting is improved at the junction," he says.
A Bradford council spokesman says: "We have not yet received details of the accident but we will obviously look into any concerns raised by the police."
