Addingham'S display of Christmas lights has come under fire as a poor show of value for money.
Parish councillor Alan Jerome described this year's display of lights as 'absolutely appaling'.
He said: "I think it gets less and less for more and more and at the earliest possible stage we should be talking to Bradford or Tarmac.
"They used to submit a plan, but now it seems providing we have got £500 to give them, they will put up what they want.
"For £1,000 what we have got is absolutely appaling. It isn't value for money in any shape or form whatsoever. The lights don't cost anything because they are our lights. It can't be good value for rate- payers."
A Bradford Council spokesman said: "We have not received any complaints from the Parish Council and there have been no changes to affect the Christmas lights funding system this year. We should like to point out that funding for Addingham's lights and other areas across the district, is matched by Bradford Council on a pound for pound basis."
