More than 1,000 Bradford firms are being offered the chance to make big savings on fuel, thanks to a new partnership.
Members of Bradford Chamber of Commerce are being given a chance to switch from their current electricity or gas supplier to Chamber Energy Solutions - a partnership between the British Chambers of Commerce and Yorkshire Electricity.
The new deal is open to the BCC's network of Approved Chambers of Commerce of which Bradford, which is headed by Dr Derek Wood, is one - with more than 1,000 members.
Chamber director Sandy Needham said today: "This scheme will benefit small to medium firms in the district. It is a good scheme which will help a lot of people."
Kathy Riley, commercial director of the BCC, said today: "Thanks to the combined purchasing might of the UK's network of Approved Chambers of Commerce, our 110,000 business members now have access to generous energy discounts, demonstrating further that Chamber membership is one of the best investments any firm can make. Bottom-line savings on basic overheads are essential to small firms focused on winning through tough economic conditions and Chamber Energy Solutions will give businesses the power to succeed."
John Over, Yorkshire Electricity's trading and marketing director, added: "We are delighted that the BCC has recognised Yorkshire Electricity as the market leader and the best company to provide the Chamber Energy Solutions service."
Firms can find out more about the savings they can make by calling the Chamber Energy Solution Helpline free on 0800 0734567.
