Snooker: The Telegraph & Argus is holding its annual hunt to find an amateur champion on Saturday, January 23.
Entries will be taken up to 10.45am on the day via organiser Eric Hodgkinson at The Clubhouse In Cue Gardens, Odsal Top, with the event starting at 11am.
The winner will face Ronnie O'Sullivan in a one-frame challenge match at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre on Saturday, February 6 (7.30pm).
Previous winners have been Howard Mawson, Mick Speight, Richard Sadeghi and Kevin Firth.
Bradford lived up to their reputation of being one of the county's finest billiards teams when they beat Huddersfield No 2 in the Yorkshire Inter-District League at Moldgreen Liberal Club to put pressure on main rivals Huddersfield No 1, who led by four points prior to last weekend.
Alan Firth was tested early on against John Bowden, but a break of 31 pushed him into a 112-55 lead, and it was plain sailing from then on as he triumphed 200-114.
Mark Hirst's best break was only 33, but he was far too consistent for David Peaker, winning 200-51.
Paul Devitt came closest to losing as Frank Griffin had a break of 45 when trailing 66-41.
However, Devitt immediately followed with a 40 to regain the lead at 106-86, and increased it to 180-120. Griffin countered with a 37, but Devitt held on to win 200-168 and complete the rout.
The snooker team, who led their table by four points before the latest series of matches, had a 5-1 victory.
Wayne Cooper's 66 break helped him to a 79-12 success over Anthony Casson, but the home man took the next 64-33.
Kevin Firth, who defeated Jason McMahon 58-34, 64-45, and Matthew Holt, who beat Glenn Wilkinson 71-10, 66-37, ensured there were no further alarms, however.
Shab Ditta defeated Brian Mullaney 4-0 in a battle of former champions in the second round of the Bradford Snooker Championships.
Holder Wayne Cooper won by the same score against Paul Denny.
