Bradford Bulls have hit back at suggestions from Hull that they got talented 19-year-old Lee Radford, pictured left, on the cheap.
Sharks chief executive Bryan Calam has slammed the transfer tribunal ruling that the Bulls must pay an initial fee of just £25,000 for the Great Britain Academy star. "Everyone is tipping Lee to go all the way to the top, and I thought we would get more for him," he said.
But Bulls spokesman Stuart Duffy said: "We believe the tribunal acted very fairly and were happy with the way the hearing was conducted."
Calam also said Radford owed Sharks' fans an apology after originally stating his intention to stay with his hometown club.
But Duffy said: "We feel that was totally uncalled for. Lee is a young lad making his way in the game and had a big decision to make."
The Bulls had offered £20,000 for Radford, while Hull wanted £120,000. Bradford will also have to fork out incremental sums, which if he becomes an international could take the final fee to £60,000.
l Bulls have announced that the warm-up games with Huddersfield Giants (Saturday, Jan 30) and Wakefield Trinity (Sunday, February 7) will both kick-off at 2.30pm. Admission will be £7 for adults and £3 for children.
