Bradford City are set to make history by beaming their big FA Cup tie with Newcastle United back live to Valley Parade to try to satisfy the phenomenal demand among the Bantams fans.

The club sold their allocation of 4,000 tickets in just four hours yesterday morning with some fans starting to queue in the rain from 3am.

Chairman Geoffrey Richmond believes City could have sold around 15,000 tickets for the game on Tyneside and knows a lot of the club's fans are disappointed to miss out.

He said: "We need to have a technical survey done but, in principle, we intend screening the Newcastle game live back to Valley Parade to satisfy the demand of our fans.

"We made extensive efforts to see our allocation increased and we appreciate a lot of people are disappointed.

"The truth of the matter is that the demand was always going to outstrip the supply of tickets we received. That means that no matter how we had distributed the tickets, a lot of people would have been disappointed.

"Our intention therefore is to open the Sunwin and Symphony Stands for fans to watch the game on the big screen. We will also be opening the hospitality boxes and banqueting suite."

City will announce the details and prices of what will be their first ever live screening of an away game some time next week.
