Newly-qualified teacher Mike Bradley, a former pupil of South Craven School at Cross Hills, has taken up a teaching post in Africa.
Mike, 22, of Ferncliffe Drive, Utley, is teaching business studies in a school in Botswana. He expects to be involved in setting up his own department.
"I am really excited by the prospect," he said, before flying out this week. "It will be a challenge but I am really looking forward to it."
Mike believes his love of cricket and rugby league helped clinch the job because he will also be involved in teaching sport. He played cricket for Steeton and his school and rugby league for Nottingham's Trent university.
He was to find out when he arrived in the Botswana which school he would be teaching at.
