Wetherby 19 Aireborough 12
AIREBOROUGH gave a good account of themselves in this closely contested club game against their local rivals. In a first-half which saw play move from end to end Aireborough conceded two tries but replied when, from a tap penalty, the ball was moved through the forwards for hooker Nigel Craven to give the scoring pass to winger James Williams who touched down in the corner.
Aireborough suffered a blow after the interval when prop Dave Greenwood had to leave the field with an injury which left the side a man sort for the rest of the game.
However, by dipping deep, they held their own when, after conceding a third try, they created the move of the game.
Stand-off Paul Mackie broke from is own line to feed winger James Williams who, leaving the opposition in his wake, raced 80 metres to score. The conversion by Paul Mackie completed Aireborough's scoring.

Crusaders 0 Otley IV 37
In blustery conditions, and despite a spirited performance, Crusaders were comfortably beaten by their more experienced visitors.
Crusaders' forward strength was soon apparent with Andy Wood and Simon Rostron gaining a good supply of line-out possession and the forward drives of skipper Tony Exley and his brother Paul scattering the opposition's defence.
However, their backs lacked attacking ideas and had to rely on high kicks from stand-off Chris Payne. The visitor's strong running backs were always a problem and the difference between the two teams.
Crusaders were thankful for the midfield tackling of centre Peter Lancaster and the relieving touch kicks of full-back Steve Gaunt. Crusaders conceded two first-half tries but as the game progressed they tired and allowed the opposition to score four further tries to achieve a comfortable victory.
Man-of-the-Match for Crusaders was No 8 Paul Exley for a totally committed performance, which was ably assisted by fellow back row Dick Sweetman with his non-stop support play.
