Action is being taken to make it easier for disabled drivers to park in Keighley town centre.
Council officers are discussing ways of imp-roving access for orange-badge holders while stopping obstructions caused by some of them.
Keighley Town Centre Management Group compiled a report last summer suggesting improved access on Low Street with better facilities for disabled drivers. Town centre manager Sandra Parnham interviewed drivers and shopkeepers about the best way forward.
The report formed the basis for talks this week between interested parties including the management group and Keighley Area Panel, the local arm of Bradford council.
The management group feels people with a genuine disability, who can display orange badges in their car windows, need to get nearer to shops. Members recently complained several drivers cause obstructions because they believe they are allowed to park anywhere.
