A FORGOTTEN Skipton pub is to get the kiss of life from an old boy of the town who wants to see the venue become the hub of its community.
Now based in Manchester, coach company owner Brian Wass has just taken on the mammoth task of rejuvenating the Horse Close pub.
Reopening the doors just before Christmas Eve, Brian's manager Paul Shatwell was disappointed to see just 15 faces peer round the door on New Year's Eve.
But the new team at the Horse Close believe the only trouble with the hillside pub is that it needs to shake off its shabby image.
And Brian and his partner, Anne Collier, have a host of ideas.
Brian said: 'I would like to give something back to Skipton after having been away for 25 years.
'We are hoping to get a regular disco going and karaoke nights. And we have had specialists in sizing us up for a wide screen television for big sporting events.
'Paul has already resurrected the pool team and there will be promotions nights.
'This pub has great potential because there are so many people living right on the doorstep.'
