Versatile John Dreyer is set to make his comeback in Bradford City's reserve match against Notts County tomorrow after being out of action for ten weeks with a troublesome toe injury.

The match has been switched from Meadow Lane to Farsley where a pitch inspection will be held in the morning.

The unlucky 35-year-old defender who had a successful spell in the side earlier in the season as centre defensive partner to Darren Moore returned to training last week, but had to go home yesterday with flu. However, manager Paul Jewell is hoping he will be fit to play in the Pontins League Cup match.

He said: "John is a good professional who can play in a number of different positions - centre back, left back or midfield. Any manager would be pleased to have a player like that."

City's out of favour Swedish striker Robert Steiner has returned to Valley Parade after a two month's loan spell with QPR. Steiner hurt his ankle two days before the loan period ended and is spending two weeks at Lilleshall .

Steiner, who cost City £500,000 during the 1997 close season, has not figured in manager Paul Jewell's first team plans this season.

The clubs had agreed a £300,000 fee for him. Jewell said: "I think they are still interested, but they are not going to take him while he is injured. We have sent him to Lilleshall to try to get him fit as soon as possible."

Italian Serie B club Ascoli are also interested in Steiner who still has 18 months of his contract to run at City.
