A Pudsey firm is one of the first in the region to sign up to the Government's campaign to tackle the Millennium Bug.
Xsite Limited's Year 2000 coordinator James Smith has signed the pledge which was drawn up by Action 2000.
The pledge is a six-point manifesto committing companies to share information, help other firms in their supply chains and avoid legal action.
The company, which designs Internet websites, has checked all its hardware and software and other equipment which could be affected by the Millennium Bug.
The firm, based in the Pavilion Business Park in Stanningley Road, is leading the way in preparing for the Bug and helping other firms come up with what is needed to keep in step.
Mr Smith said: "Many firms are doing very little about the Bug at the moment because they think they will not be affected. It is vital that we work together and share information with our suppliers and customers and plan effectively so that our business will not be disrupted by the Millennium Bug.
"We welcome Action 2000's pledge and hope that hundreds of other companies will sign. We all want to begin the next Millennium with our businesses running smoothly."
