A senior police officer who investigated the child porn allegations at Ashworth Hospital today urged the authorities in West Yorkshire to keep a close eye on the father of the Bradford schoolgirl identified only as Child A.
The 45-year-old man, who the Telegraph & Argus understands is now living in the Kirklees area, was castigated in the Fallon Report into the Ashworth scandal for helping to 'groom' his own daughter for paedophile activity.
She is now safe with foster parents after being taken into care by Bradford social services.
But the T&A has learned that her father, who has a new partner, is not on the Sex Offenders' Register because his crimes were so long ago.
And although he was investigated for taking his daughter, and regular consignments of pornography, into Ashworth Hospital, the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to prosecute.
The Sex Offenders' Register was brought in to 'track' paedophiles more effectively and ensure they continue to be known to the authorities.
Today a senior police officer who investigated Child A's father and regards him as a "dangerous psychopath" said he would be alerting social services and police in the Kirklees area. "It's important we keep an eye on this fellow, and where he's going," said Inspector Bob Marsden, of Merseyside Police.
"I will be informing local police of this character." And he warned that the father has already changed his name several times.
A spokesman for Kirklees Council said: "The relevant agencies are fully aware of this man's whereabouts and appropriate steps have been taken to monitor potential risks."
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said they would not discuss individual cases, adding: "We have had mechanisms in place for many years to share sensitive information among various agencies concerned about offenders and potential offenders."
