IAN TAYLOR captured seventh place in the national cyclo-cross championships last weekend.
Ian, from Thwaites Brow, enjoyed a trouble free ride in the event and was sixth for over three quarters of an hour in the race which lasted for one hour and one lap. The frantic pace began to take its toll in the latest stages of the event, but he managed his best ever performance and was 1min 45secs ahead of the eighth man home.
Professional, Chris Young, got off to a terrible start when the chain on his bike broke at the start and he had to run most of the first lap before he could rech the pits and pick up a replacement machine. The two-times former champion could not recover from the blow.
