A 20-year-old man has appeared before magistrates accused of robbing an elderly woman at her home in Gilstead.
Craig Scholes, 20, of no fixed abode, appeared at Bingley Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon charged with robbery and aggravated burglary.
Scholes is accused of robbing 68-year-old Kathleen Hill of money, a carrier bag and rucksack and going into her house with a back handled craft knife on January 9. During the two minute hearing, Scholes spoke only to confirm his name. No application was made for bail and reporting restrictions were not lifted.
The case against Scholes was adjourned for four weeks and he was remanded in custody until February 19.
