Bolton Villas caused a cup upset by beating Premier division side Cricketers Arms to secure a quarter-final place.
After coming from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 just after half time Cricketers equalised only for Villas to score two more. Cricketers Arms added another goal with 10 minutes to go, but Villas managed to hang on. Their goals came from Darren marshall (2), Nigel Long and Simon Norde with his first goal for the club.
In the only Division One game Royal played hosts to Allertaon and managed to sneak a 2-1 victory.
In a scrappy first game aftert the New Year break, Royal led by a first half own goal from the Allerton keeper. They then repaid the compliment when their own keeper put one in his own net before Marcus Dearden hit what turned out to be the winner halfway through the second period.
St Annes Celtic went down 2-0 to Rockwell Social Club in the County Sunday Cup.
After holding Rockwell, Celtic conceded the first goal after 80 minutes and then got caught out in the last couple of minutes when pushing for an equaliser.
