Otley Town 2

NOT for the first time this season the Wharfedale Observer - sponsored Otley Town side bounced back from a disappointment with a splendid win. Valuable league points were gained from a gutsy display in which Town's younger end shone.

Notable perforfances came from Paul North at the back and Ross Barron and Joe Lunn in midfield.

Manager Martin Ibbetson made changes not only to the team but to the pattern. The sweeper was dispensed with and Town looked more comfortable in gaining a well deserved win in conditions which were not conducive to the play of either side.

Town adapted better in the mud. They took an early lead when Lee Grice pounced as the opposition defence hesitated. Town's grafting front runner still had a bit to do but did it in style.

Attrition was the name of the game but it made for reasonable entertainment with the home side constantly trying the referee's patience.

Mid-way through the second-half this came to a head when the home right wingman was sent off. Just after that Farnley equalised with a scrambled goal.

Farnley had a good spell and Town's veteran 'keeper Aidy Atter was again Town's saviour with a couple of good saves. Paul North also helped out with some well timed tackles as Farnley sniffed the scent.

However, Town bounced back and Graeme Hutchison was on hand to tap in following a good save from James Firth's well placed shot.

It was no more than Town deserved and they now look forward to this weekend's visit to Littletown in the League Cup.
