The high-profile coordinator of Keighley SRB is leaving the town to take on a flagship regeneration post in Liverpool.
Lynn Spencer, who oversees hundreds of local regeneration projects, will run an SRB partnership in the Speke and Garston area. She will continue to live in Cullingworth and plans to commute to Liverpool during her three-year contract.
She stresses she will work to ensure a smooth change-over during her final few weeks at the Keighley SRB office on North Street.
Sheffield-born Lynn, 39, who has a teenage daughter and two stepchildren, worked for Bradford council for 15 years before taking on the Keighley post.
Tribute was this week paid to Lynn's work setting up and running Keighley's £18.7 million regeneration programme over the past few years.
Andy Mudd, Lynn's boss on the SRB partnership board, says many people will agree she deserves the new job. "She's done a brilliant job over the years, not only with the SRB, for Keighley and Bradford."
Mr Mudd hopes to find a capable person to oversee the SRB temporarily until a permanent replacement can be found. Winter is the busiest time for the SRB programme due to the financial year coming to an end, increased contact with the government SRB office and the completion of a bid for extra funding for Highfield.
Sangat Community Centre manager Khadim Hussain, a member of the SRB partnership board, says Lynn has made a marvellous contribution to Keighley. "She has left her mark," he adds.
When she goes to Liverpool, Lynn will take on the flagship project out of the city's 14 regeneration programmes. Covering a similar mix of schemes as Keighley, particularly training and job creation, it recently won a two-year extension to the original five-year programme.
