Bradford City will make more than £250,000 from their fourth round FA Cup tie at Newcastle United.
City chairman Geoffrey Richmond said: "We haven't had the final figures yet, but we will have more than £250,000 to come from our share of the gate.
"Total gate receipts were £800,000, but out of that there is a VAT figure, match expenses and the FA's ten per cent to be taken off before our share can be calculated."
City also made a profit from the big screen showing of the cup match at Valley Parade.
Richmond said: "It cost us about £15,000 to stage and we needed about 3,000 to break even. In the event, we had a gate of more 5,000 so it was a profitable exercise.
"Response to the big screen showing has been largely favourable. The general view is that the screen wasn't as large as people expected, but the picture was perfect. Apparently there was a good atmosphere in the ground."
City are also looking for big crowds in the last nine home league matches of the season as they pursue their promotion ambitions.
Richmond said: "We have tickets on sale for all remaining home matches and the matches against Sunderland and Huddersfield Town are heading for a sell-out.
"We would urge people who want to see those two matches to buy their tickets as soon as possible."
City's match against leaders Sunderland is a midweek fixture - on Tuesday, March 9 - while neighbours Huddersfield visit Valley Parade on Saturday, April 17.
City who are now preparing for Sunday's match at one of their biggest promotion rivals, fourth placed Birmingham to be shown live on Sky (1pm).
But they will be without key defender Darren Moore for the following match - at home to Watford on Saturday, February 6.
Moore picked up his fifth booking of the season at Newcastle and is automatically suspended for one match.
Fortunately manager Paul Jewell is well covered in this position with Andy O'Brien and John Dreyer, who were both on the bench at St James' Park ready to come in alongside Ashley Westwood.
They are both possible starters for City's reserve team tomorrow against Scunthorpe at Farsley Celtic's Throstle Nest Ground in the Pontin's League Division Two Cup. The match kicks off at 2pm.
