Bradford Chamber of Commerce has announced a new deal with Graydon UK Limited to provide a new credit checking service to Chamber members at a new lower cost.
The new link-up offers a 30 per cent cost saving on the cost of obtaining company credit rating reports to the Chamber's 1,000 plus member companies (the service can also be used by non-member companies).
Graydon UK Limited are one of Europe's leading credit insurance organisations.
The company offers a range of products and services geared to providing the essential credit risk information for businesses.
Liz Wood, the Chamber's senior information officer, said: "As a matter of good practice we recommend that businesses obtain as much information on potential customers as possible before extending credit.
"This is all the more important in the current business climate: approximately 3,300 company insolvencies were recorded in the third quarter of 1998.
"The credit reports offered by the Chamber can provide information on year end financial results, screen for past County Court judgements or even suggest credit limits.
"What's more, the information can be provided within an hour."
Datasearch, the Chamber's information service, can be contacted on 01274 772777.
In 1998 the Chamber, whose president is Dr Derek Wood, dealt with more than 5,000 information calls. The Chamber can also provide credit assessment of companies listed outside the UK.
Datasearch services provide an excellent source of information for marketing and other purposes and include database searches of all registered companies in the UK. Reports can provide detailed lists of UK companies on PC disc, as a printed report or as labels for direct marketing.
