Attempts to ensure the future of Wilsden village hall will be discussed to-night as it faces a £15,000 shortfall.
The hall, the focal point of village life with a large range of activities from a play school to youth club, has been under threat since Bradford Council withdrew a £30,000 grant last year.
It clawed back £14,000 after a deal was struck for the hall to run the youth club on the Council's behalf but a substantial gap still remains and there is no guarantee that arrangement will continue.
Dr Verner Wheelock, chairman of the hall's management committee, said a fundraising committee has now been set up which will meet tomorrow at 8.15pm.
He said: "It's early days yet but I'm quite encouraged at the success of the past year with a successful gala and auction.
"What we are trying to do is to get some framework that will give us steady fundraising and we're open to ideas."
