Families are sought to host a group of Japanese students who are to visit Keighley. Ten pupils aged 11-13 from the island of Kyushu are coming in July and will spend a week at Oakbank School.
The exchange came after head-teacher John Roberts visited Japan with other headteachers last year.
Mr Roberts is appealing to families of Oakbank children and pupils at middle schools who may be going to Oakbank in the future to accommodate the youngsters. "The children will be looked after by the school on weekdays but we are asking families to host a child during the evenings and at the weekend," he says.
It is hoped children from Oakbank will visit Japan in 2000.
Anyone interested in hosting a student should contact Mr Roberts on 01535 210111.
