NICOLA ELLISON dislocated her shoulder within the first two minutes of the Cats' enounter with Hunslet Hawkettes.
The Keighley side, already weakened by injury, illness and work commitments, had to work overtime to prevent Hunslet taking advantage of the extra player every time they attacked.
Hunslet started brightly, scoring theirf first try while ellison was still receiving treatment, and added another soon afterwards. Both tries were converted and the signs looked ominous.
The Cats began to show their fighting spirit and repeatedly droive Hunslet back with strong forward play. Fullback Elaine Entwistle seemed to be everywhere and it was no surprise when she put the finishing touches to a flowing Cats move.
Hunslet hit back with another converted try before half time.
Hunslet opened the secondhalf with a converted try, but from then on it was all Cats.
Playing with the advantage of a slight slope they pounded the Hunslet line for most of the half and although Laura Ackroyd scored a typical solo try and Entwistle, Gemma Liddon and Sarah Cartwright all went close they were unable to add to their tally.
A very late Hunslet try gave the scoreline a slightly flattering look, but Cats can take heart from a great team performance.
Elaine Entwistle deservedly took the player of the match award but she was closely followed by Janice shackleton, in only her second game, and Lisa fisher who both had tremendous games.
On Sunday the Cats are due to entertain Halifax at Marley.
