Johnson & Johnson pulled off a spectacular rescue act, after falling 56 points behind to the Outsiders.

Mark Deacon demolished Derek Stanforth 21-7, 21-15 and things really looked bleak for the J&J team.

John Pullen came to their rescue in dramatic fashion grinding out a 21-7, 21-8 success against Mark Southall then gaining points against Mark Deacon 19-21, 21-8 before taking on Ryan Foulds in a set that probably settled the outcome as the Gargrave player enhanced his personal total to +52 with a 21-4, 18-21 scoreline. Mark Deacon's total of +21 was good but not good enough for Outsiders who lost out by 16 points.

Ukrainian 'A' had to pull out all the stops against Third Division Central 'B' who enjoyed a huge 270 point advantage. Giving the youngsters a 15-point start in each game, the League Champions just managed to squeak home by a mere 3 points. Azim Khan was exceptional for Central, holding Steve Rutherford to 13-21, 11-21, but there was no escape from Steve Taylor and Paul Farley who clawed back 96 and 92 points respectively.

Airedale Terriers 'D', with both Simon Morton (+82) and Steve Wands (+84) in fine form, were too strong for St Wilf's. John Mitchell did his best with a fine 21-9, 21-5 victory over Hugh Bevington in game nine, but by then the damage had been done and the Gilstead team tumbled out of the competition with a crushing 79 point defeat.

With her team starting with an advantage of 72 points over their 'B' team, Terriers 'E' player, Jayne Boyes stayed well within her personal target by dropping only 18 points. She played so well that, Stuart Myers, who finished with an overall tally of +68, could only manage a 21-13, 21-17 success against the rapidly improving Boyes who in turn had a resounding 21-12, 21-9 win against Paul Waddington.

The 'B' team proved to be too good in the end, however, and with John Driver (+76) in superb form they cantered home by a margin of 79 points.

The 54 points advantage Central 'A' had at the beginning of their match at Cononley Sports was quickly wiped out by Phil Scarr (+44), Eric Hudson (+29) and Stuart Maude (+22) as the Sportsmen raced to a decisive 41 point victory. Mohammed Haleem fought hard for the visitors, gaining the advantage over Stuart Maude 21-19, 21-16 and sharing the spoils with Eric Hudson 17-21, 21-18, but the young star lacked support as his team tumbled out of the competition.
