Two youths who attempted to break into a house by kicking in the front door fled when they spotted the occupier looking out of an upstairs window.
The incident happened at about 12.15pm on Tuesday in Skipton Road, Utley.
The first youth is described as white, aged 14-16, about 5ft 6in tall, slim, with long and wavy light brown/blond hair.
His accomplice is white, aged about 14, 5ft 2in tall, with short straight brown hair.
Sgt Allan Gee, of Keighley police, says: "This happened alongside a busy main road and there would be plenty of people around in that area at a lunchtime.
"We would ask anyone who may have seen the suspects to contact us."
A bogus doctor has stolen cash from two residents at a Haworth sheltered housing complex.
The man called at flats in Thornfield, Station Road, last Thursday lunchtime.
At the first he spoke to the 87-year-old occupant about tablets she was taking. She later realised £75 was missing from the flat.
He then called on a 92-year-old and took £200.
The man is described as white, about 6ft tall and clean shaven. He was wearing a dark long-sleeved sweater and dark trousers.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the suspect.
A 44-year-old woman had her handbag snatched outside Morrison's supermarket in Keighley on Monday.
She was loading shopping into her car when a thief took the bag from the trolley and ran off. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened in the supermarket car park just before 6pm.
The suspect is described as white, aged 15-30, slim, around 6ft 1in, and of athletic appearance. He was wearing a blue denim jacket and a dark woolly hat.
Sgt Gee says: "There would be quite a few people around at that time. We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or may have seen someone matching the suspect's description."
The family is particularly keen to have returned diaries and other personal items which were in the handbag.
